In Hôtel Particulier, 5 Avenue Marceau, known for the location of almost 30 years of design from one of the most iconic fashion designers in the world, now houses the Yves Saint Laurent Museum.

In the museum, exhibits of the designer’s most well-known work stand in displays accessible for only 10 euros and are comprised of an ever-changing rotation of pieces.

I visited with my parents in 2018 and, although we weren’t allowed to take photos during the visit, I still remember it well.

The first room introduces you to the life and long career of Yves Saint Laurent, who was one of the masters in the world of haute couture. There is an informational video, showing you what it took for this genius to grow and work in this world and contribute so much to it. The museum allows their visitors to be invited behind the scenes of an atelier and see the amount of detail that goes into one piece.

Yves Saint Laurent spent a part of his life in Marrakech and was heavily inspired, so it is evident in the displays his evolution over time in the work. In fact, his partner, Pierre Bergé, installed lots of the late designers’ work in a museum in Marrakech because of the effect it had on the designer’s life view.

The Yves Saint Laurent museum in Paris is definitely a great place to stop and take in because it does a fantastic job of telling his story in the very spot he spent most of his time designing and creating.

For all the fashion and art lovers out there! This will be a very much appreciated stop along your journey.

Thanks so much for reading!
