If you have limited time in London or just want to see a little outside the capital, this day trip is for you! You’ll visit three of England’s most famous attractions in a day that’s action-packed but stress-free since we handle all the logistics.

First, head to Windsor, a charming town where you can enjoy the quaint shops and restaurants. But the big attraction here is Windsor Castle, the official royal residence of the king, with its turreted tower and landscaped gardens.

You can see the outside of the castle from a distance, but upgrade your ticket to venture inside its walls. Here, you’ll be dazzled by the Crimson Drawing Room and the glittering Grand Reception Room (decked in real gold, of course). See priceless art by Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci, and peek inside Queen Mary’s dollhouse, dating to the 1920s and complete with a wine cellar, electricity, and a tiny library with over 200 books.

Don’t forget to tour St. George’s Chapel, where former monarchs are buried, and snap a photo of the royal guard.

Then we’re off to Stonehenge, a prehistoric stone circle shrouded in mystery. Audio guide in hand, learn about the theories of its ancient purpose as you explore this sprawling World Heritage Site dating back some 5,000 years.

Finally, we come to Bath, famous for Jane Austen, Georgian architecture, and well-preserved Roman ruins, such as the massive baths complex. You can enjoy the romantic Pulteney Bridge (modeled on Florence’s Ponte Vecchio), the 15th-century Bath Abbey, the Parade Gardens, afternoon tea, and more in this picturesque city. Be sure to take a sip from Bath’s famous waters in the neoclassical Pump Room.

Upgrade to tour inside the Roman Baths, filled with water from Britain’s only hot spring. Walk through the ruins of the Temple of Sulis Minerva. And learn about the period when Rome ruled Britain through artifacts like coins and tablets engraved with curses. In winter, you’ll even get to see the torch-lighting ceremony at dusk.

We’ll return to London around 8 p.m.

FAQs

When should I get there?

Plan to show up 30 minutes early. The tour starts promptly, and you may not be able to catch up if you arrive late.

Will there be a guided tour of Windsor Castle and Stonehenge?

Due to local rules, your guide won’t accompany you inside Windsor Castle or to the Stonehenge site, but they’ll provide you with plenty of stories and tips beforehand.

Is lunch included?

No, lunch isn’t included, but you’ll have lots of recommendations from your guide.

Is this tour run by ExperienceFirst?

No, it’s run by one of our trusted and vetted partners in London.

Will the itinerary above change?

The itinerary may change. In particular, Windsor Castle is a working royal palace and is subject to closure. The castle is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well as Dec. 26 — on those days, your visit will be replaced by a walking tour of Windsor instead. When the State Apartments are closed, the Precincts, Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House, and the Drawings Gallery will remain open. St. George’s Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays.

What is the rescheduling policy?

We understand plans change. We offer a 100% refund or the option to reschedule (pending availability) up to 48 hours prior to your tour start time. Within 48 hours of your tour, we would have incurred hard costs and therefore cannot allow rescheduling or cancellation without costs.

Are gratuities included?

Tips aren’t included but are always appreciated by our guides. If you think your guide did an outstanding job, a tip is a great way to show that.
