It is a well known fact that Paris is celebrated as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but let’s take a look at what makes her so fun? Here are some uniquely fun things to see and do in Paris to make your vacation a truly memorable one!

1. L’Art

Artists have long since flocked to Paris, and one of the most artistic neighborhoods in Paris, Montmartre, has art displayed on every corner, literally! Street Art enthusiasts can enjoy the murals and installations, and fans of the more surreal can enjoy The Dali Museum or Place de Tetre – an actual open air art studio where you can watch fine artists create beautiful works of art right in front of you.

The Seine River cuts through Paris and very little can compare to strolling along the banks of the Seine! In the warmer months Paris’ 1st arrondissement is a fantastic place to be if you are looking for some out of the box fun. You can picnic with friends, go for a bike ride, enjoy a beautiful river cruise, or even go dancing. Musicians flock to the Seine regularly and no matter which way you choose to explore her striking banks, it will all make for a lovely and lively  experience.

Paris has far and away the most beautiful sunsets! And not only does the sky fill with color and life, the cityscape also joins in on the nightly transformation. See, we have what is called “Blue Hour” where the entire city is actually covered in a blue hue. This is because of the distinctly blue and grey rooftops of the Haussmannian buildings. When dusk settles over the city, you can watch the light of the city slowly change before your eyes. My suggestion is to head somewhere high where you can take it all in, like the steps of Sacre Coeur Bascilica or from the Summit of the Eiffel Tower – basically, the higher up you go, the better the views get!

Paris City Lights
  1. 4. The Lights

Once the sun goes down, the city really… well… lights up! One of my favorite places to check out at night is The Louvre Museum! Not only is it quieter in the evening with less crowds, but I love getting to see the iconic Louvre Pyramid light up with its warm white lights. It makes for a beautiful Photo Op. And speaking of photos, and with fewer crowds, you can actually get a selfie with The Mona Lisa! 😉 Of course no trip to Paris is complete until you have seen the Iron Lady herself light up and sparkle. Here’s a little song you can sing to remember exactly when this happens, sung to the tune of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”

“Twinkle twinkle Eiffel Tower

Every hour on the hour

After dark til 1am

Then she goes to sleep again

Twinkle twinkle Eiffel Tower

Every hour on the hour”
