Step inside an authentic Parisian bakery to learn firsthand the secrets of French baking techniques from a true expert. Here, you’ll discover what makes French breads so… French!
In this small-group, hands-on Paris pastry class and bread-making workshop, learn from your culinary guide how to properly prepare bread dough to get that characteristic flavor, the best crumb, and a golden crust. As you knead your dough or apply butter to croissant layers, you’ll hear stories about the evolution of French baking, as well as interesting facts you can use to impress friends when you return from your trip.
With no more than eight participants, guests get plenty of one-on-one time with a pro.
Taste different baguettes and learn how to differentiate them. Discover the history of the financier, a small cake with a unique flavor. And face the shocking truth that the chocolate croissant is really an American invention.
In this popular baking class in Paris, you’ll even get to know the difference between bread flours, yeast and sourdough, how to laminate dough, and baguette-shaping techniques.
We’ll have sweet and savory tastings along the way so you can learn how flavor leads the art of baking.

There are two bakeries offering this exclusive experience: one in Passy and one in le Marais. You can select your preferred neighborhood when you book. Meet your baking instructor inside the bakery 15 minutes before the tour start time at the address provided in your email booking confirmation.

Learn firsthand from a French baking expert how to laminate dough, shape a baguette, puff a croissant, and much more. This hands-on class includes personalized instruction (no more than eight students), tastings, and plenty of treats to take home!

How much walking is there?
This experience requires you to be able to stand for an extended period of time.
Is this experience accessible?
No, this experience isn’t accessible for wheelchairs. Both bakeries are in historic buildings that have multiple steps to reach the second floor.
Are children allowed?
Children are allowed, but they must be accompanied by an adult. Kids under the age of 5 can join free of charge, but they won’t be able to participate in the hands-on baking experience due to safety concerns.
What is the rescheduling policy?
We understand plans change. We offer a 100% refund or the option to reschedule up to 24 hours before your class start time. Cancellations within 24 hours aren’t eligible for refunds or rescheduling.
When should I get there?
Plan to show up 15 minutes early. The class starts promptly, and you may not be able to join if you arrive late.
Are gratuities included?
Tips aren’t included but are always appreciated by our guides. If you think your guide did an outstanding job, a tip is a great way to show that.
