The guided part of the tour is 2 hours. Your guide will direct you to the Reserve Line for the ferry. At that point, you will be on your own to explore Liberty and Ellis Island at your own pace.
You will be on your feet the whole day. There is approximately 2 miles of walking in the first portion of the guided tour. Subsequently you can spend as much time on Liberty and Ellis Island.
The tour cannot accommodate a visit to the 9/11 Museum or the Crown during the tour. You will visit the 9/11 Memorial and WTC site where your tour guides share the history and stories of the site.
It is important to arrive at the tour starting location at least 10-15 minutes prior to the start time, as we do start the tour promptly. It would be unfair for the others if we need to wait for those that are late. We cannot guarantee you’ll be able to find your tour group if you are late.
We only cancel the tour during extreme weather conditions. Otherwise the tour goes on. Please check the weather report and be prepared.
Tips are always appreciated by our guides, but never expected. They should be given if you believe your guide did an outstanding job, and further, if you as an individual want to demonstrate your appreciation to the guide for that job well done.

Tour Ends: at Castle Clinton, at which point the guide directs you to the ferry to the Statue of Liberty.
You will meet your guide in the Financial District to learn about the history of NYC, the early Dutch settlement and how it transformed to the financial capital it is today. As you walk along Wall Street, you’ll see the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Reserve Bank and other financial and historical institutions.
Next stop is the 9/11 National Memorial where you’ll see the enormous reflecting pools, the largest man-made fountains. You’ll hear stories of the events, tragedy and heroism of that day. The guide will take you directly to the Reserve ticket line where you will get early Reserve line access to the ferry that will take you to Liberty Island. Before sending on your way to Liberty Island, our guide will tell you the key things to check out on Liberty and Ellis Island as well as share the amazing stories of American immigration and the story behind the Statue of Liberty. It is a better experience to explore Liberty and Ellis Island at your own pace after we have given you the history and the key sites to check out. You decide where you’d like to spend more time – whether it is to learn the history and construction of the Statue, admire the views of NYC or look for your ancestors’ names on Ellis Island.
