Explore Westminster, the seat of England’s government for eight centuries, in the light of the turbulent days of World War II. On this small-group London tour (no more than 12 people), your guide will take you past some of England’s most iconic sights as you hear stories of Winston Churchill, war heroes, battles, and even a glimpse into U.K. politics at the Houses of Parliament.

We’ll pass by and learn about places still at the heart of British life today such as Scotland Yard, Parliament Square, Westminster Abbey, and the Supreme Court. See where Churchill lived at Number 10 Downing Street (home of the prime minister) and where he married at the 12th-century St. Margaret’s Church.

Bring your camera for photos of the lofty Elizabeth Tower with Big Ben in full view and the site of the former Whitehall Palace.

Your visit also includes visits to monuments like the Battle of Britain, commemorating the pivotal battle from 1940, the famous Cenotaph, and a 22-foot-tall bronze sculpture in honor of the women of World War II. Learn what London at war was like as your guide shares stories of the people and places of the 1930s and ’40s.

Our WWII London walking tour ends at the Churchill War Rooms where you can enter the museum to explore at your own pace. This once secret underground complex is where Churchill and his inner circle directed Britain’s role in the Second World War. Your audio guide, map, and timed-entry ticket are included.
